A Tribute to Haji Muhammad Anwar Pasha (RA)

The following tribute has been shared by the family of Haji Muhammad Anwar Pasha (RA)

A Tribute to Our Beloved Father
Haji Mohammad Anwar Pasha (Allah be pleased with him)

28th November 2020 – A Pillar of Jami Masjid Noorani departs this temporary world

A devoted servant of Allah ﷻ, a loving father, and one of the true pillars of Jami’ Masjid Noorani, our beloved father (RA) was not merely part of the masjid; he was its heart.

Gentle in speech yet firm in principle, he carried a quiet strength that brought comfort to many. He never sought recognition, yet his presence anchored the community. He was the glue that held people together, reconciling hearts, advising with wisdom, encouraging unity, and always placing the masjid and its people before himself.

He was known for his unwavering service. He would often be the first to arrive and the last to leave, ensuring everything was prepared before others came and settling matters long after they departed. No task was beneath him. Whether arranging the prayer space, welcoming attendees, organising behind the scenes, or simply ensuring the doors were open, he served with sincerity and love.

In the stillness of the night, he would come for Tahajjud. In his later years, when many seek rest, he sought the Qur’an. With remarkable dedication, he began memorising the Book of Allah in his old age, a powerful testament to his lifelong attachment to the house of Allah. After Fajr, he would remain engaged in dhikr and reflection, embodying what it means to live connected to salah and the masjid.

But perhaps his greatest investment was not only in bricks and service, it was in people.

He invested deeply in his children’s Deen and dunya, nurturing both their Islamic grounding and their worldly stability. By the will and mercy of Allah, two of his sons became Huffaaz of the Qur’an, and today three of his grandsons are also Huffaaz, a living, breathing sadaqah jaariyah flowing continuously in his scale of good deeds.

The Qur’an he loved now echoes in the hearts of his own lineage.

What greater legacy can a father leave?

His passing on 28th November 2020 due to COVID-19 was a profound loss, not only for our family but for the entire JMN community. The emptiness left behind was felt in the rows of salah, in the quiet corners of the masjid, and in the hearts of those who relied upon him. He was a stabilising force, a source of reassurance, and a living example of sincerity and steadfastness.

He believed in building for the akhirah.
He believed in nurturing future generations.
He believed that a masjid is not just walls and structure, it is hearts united in worship and service.

Today, as Jami’ Masjid Noorani continues to develop for generations to come, we encourage everyone to support this noble cause as Esaal-e-Thawaab for him.

Every brick laid, every child who memorises Qur’an, every sajdah performed within these walls can continue to raise his ranks, Insha’Allah.

He taught us that true success is not measured by status, but by service.
Not by wealth, but by worship.
Not by recognition, but by sincerity.

A father.
A servant of the Qur’an.
A pillar of JMN.
A heart that beat for the masjid.

May Allah ﷻ envelop him in His infinite mercy, illuminate and expand his grave, accept his lifelong service, grant him the highest maqaam in Jannatul Firdaus, and reunite us with him under the shade of His Throne.

May we honour his legacy by continuing his path of salah, Qur’an, service, and unity.

Aameen
